2. What this policy covers — and what it does not
This policy describes how we handle information collected through our website and through inquiries you send us by form, email, phone, or text message.
It does not cover client engagement records. Once you become a client, information you share with us during a consulting engagement is governed by our services agreement rather than by this policy.
We are not a HIPAA covered entity for website purposes. We advise healthcare organizations on licensing and compliance. We do not provide healthcare services, and we do not collect protected health information through this website.
Please do not send patient information, client health records, or any protected health information through our web forms, by text message, or by unencrypted email. Where a consulting engagement requires us to handle protected health information, that arrangement is governed by a separate business associate agreement.
3. Information we collect
Information you give us
When you submit our consultation request form, we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- Which services you are planning
- Your target timeline for operating
- Whether you have formed your Maryland entity
If you contact us by phone, email, or text message, we collect whatever you choose to share in that communication.
Information collected automatically
When you visit our website, we and our service providers automatically collect:
- IP address and the approximate location derived from it
- Browser type and version, device type, and operating system
- Pages viewed, time spent, and links clicked
- The website, search, or advertisement that referred you to us
- Date and time of your visit
We collect this through cookies and similar technologies, described in Section 7.
What we do not collect
We do not knowingly collect Social Security numbers, financial account information, biometric data, precise geolocation, protected health information, or information from anyone under 18 through this website. We do not maintain user accounts, and we do not collect login credentials.
4. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your inquiry and schedule your consultation
- Provide the consulting services you request
- Send you materials you have asked for, such as our licensing guides
- Send occasional updates about Maryland licensing requirements and our services, where you have consented to receive them
- Understand how visitors use our site so we can improve it
- Measure the performance of our advertising
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements
We do not use your information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
5. We do not sell your information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not done so in the preceding twelve months.
We share information only in the circumstances described in Section 9.
6. Advertising, analytics, and measurement
We advertise on Google and use Google’s advertising and measurement products, including Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Google Ads conversion tracking.
How this works in practice:
- Google may set cookies that let us measure which advertisements led to inquiries.
- When you submit our form, we use a feature called enhanced conversions for leads. This means the email address you provide is converted into a secure, non-readable form (a cryptographic hash) before being transmitted to Google, so that we can measure which advertisement produced the inquiry. Google does not receive your email address in readable form through this feature, and we do not provide your contact information to Google for any other advertising purpose.
- We may separately record, in our own systems, whether an inquiry became a client, and report that outcome to Google using the same hashed identifier, so we can understand which advertising produces results.
We do not use your information to target advertising to you on other websites.
Your choices:
- Control Google’s use of advertising cookies at Google Ads Settings
- Opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
- Opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies at aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org
7. Cookies and similar technologies
| Category | Purpose | Can you refuse? |
| Strictly necessary | Site security, load balancing, basic function | No — the site will not work without these |
| Analytics | Understanding traffic and page performance | Yes |
| Advertising measurement | Measuring which ads produced inquiries | Yes |
You can refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking analytics and advertising cookies will not affect your ability to use the site or contact us.
See also our Cookies Policy.
8. Universal opt-out signals
We recognize and honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) and similar universal opt-out signals. If your browser transmits one of these signals, we treat it as a request to opt out of targeted advertising and of any sharing of your information for advertising purposes.
9. How we share information
We share personal information only with:
- Service providers who help us operate the business, bound by contract to use your information only to provide services to us. These currently include our website host, Cloudflare (security and content delivery), and Google (analytics and advertising measurement).
- Professional advisors such as our attorneys and accountants, where necessary.
- Government authorities, where required by law, subpoena, or court order.
- A successor entity, if our business is sold or merged, subject to this policy. We will provide notice before your information becomes subject to a different policy.
10. Email and text messages
If you provide your email address, we may send you materials you requested and occasional updates about Maryland licensing and our services. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and we honor unsubscribe requests promptly.
Text messages
You can reach us by text at (240) 350-8373, including through the messaging option on our Google Business Profile. If you text us, we will reply by text about your inquiry.
We do not send marketing text messages, and we will not text you simply because you submitted our web form. We will text you only if you text us first, or if you have separately given express written consent to receive text messages from us.
Where you have consented to receive text messages from us: message and data rates may apply, message frequency varies, you can reply STOP at any time to opt out or HELP for assistance, and consent to receive text messages is never a condition of purchasing any service.
11. How long we keep information
| Information | Retention |
| Inquiries that do not become engagements | 24 months from your last contact with us |
| Client engagement records | 7 years from the end of the engagement, to meet professional and legal obligations |
| Website analytics | According to the retention defaults of the tools we use |
You may ask us to delete your information sooner, as described in Section 13.
12. Security
We use commercially reasonable safeguards including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and reputable hosting and security providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send sensitive information through our web form or by text message.
13. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you
- Access a copy of that information
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your information
- Obtain a portable copy of information you provided to us
- Opt out of targeted advertising, of any sale of your information, and of profiling with legal or similarly significant effects
- Appeal a decision we make about your request
Residents of Maryland (under the Maryland Online Data Privacy Act), Virginia, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have these rights under those laws. We extend them to every visitor regardless of residence.
To make a request, email [email protected] with the subject line “Privacy Request,” or write to us at the address in Section 1.
We will respond within 45 days. Where reasonably necessary we may extend once by a further 45 days, and we will tell you why. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights — we will not deny you services, charge you a different price, or provide a different quality of service.
If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision. If we deny your appeal, you may contact the Maryland Office of the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division, or the attorney general of your own state.
14. Children
Our website and services are directed to businesses and to adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.
15. Third-party links
Our site links to third-party websites, including Maryland Department of Health resources and our social media profiles. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review their policies separately.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and post the revised policy on this page. Where changes are material, we will provide prominent notice before they take effect. Continued use of the site after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
